Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, sports, interests, etc.).

I currently live and work in Perth Amboy NJ. I am a proud mother of three and a school teacher currently completing my masters in Urban Education. I keep myself busy juggling work, family, school and staying fit. It is very important to me that my kids see me getting stronger, I want to be their role model. Each of my three kids participate in organized sports, therefore I think it’s very important that they see and understand that doesn’t stop with scholastic sports. Being healthy and staying fit should continue through out their lives.

I do not have any background in sports, but I have a passion for lifting weights, getting bruised all over and feeling soar all the time. Hey! That’s CrossFit.

What was your fitness routine before CrossFit?

I was an active member of the YMCA. I participated in group fitness classes which I love. I had a group of fitness instructors, which encouraged and helped me to build and feed my passion for fitness.

Why did you start doing CrossFit?

My husband introduced me to CrossFit, he wouldn’t stop talking about it. One day he  made me watched the Crossfit Games and I said to myself “I would love to do that” and the fire was lit. I visited a couple of CrossFit boxes and fell in love with the vibe at CrossFit Stealth. To see the men and women push themselves during a WOD gave me the courage not to stop.

What were your thoughts after your first CrossFit workout?

I initially wanted to workout only three times a week but after my first WOD I was hungry for more. I loved it. It was awesome. I wanted to go back for more. Now the first thing I do when I wake up is to check the WOD and can’t wait for 4:45 to come.

What were your goals when joining CrossFit Stealth?

I wanted to be challenged to do things that I never thought I could do before. I am proud to say that I am a CrossFitter.

Have you achieved any of those goals?

I started over a month ago  and I can say that I’m proud of all the things that I’m able to do now. I still have a long way to go but with the encouragement of my coaches and my peers I have no doubt that I will keep on progressing.

Has CrossFit affected your life outside the box? How so?

Definitely! I am more energetic and I have more confidence in the things I do thorough out the day.

How would you describe your experience at CrossFit Stealth?

Awesome!! CrossFit Stealth is my second home. Everyone is friendly, from the coaches to the members. I get motivation from everyone. There are no words to express how happy I feel to be a member at CrossFit Stealth

How has CrossFit differed from any other training you’ve done in the past?

I got a good basis at the YMCA, but CrossFit just pushed it to the MAX! Knowing that at the end of a WOD we all drop to the floor breathless but fulfilled is indescribable. When I walk into the box and I hear “3-2-1…” I know that there is no turning back and I have to give it my all.

What advice would you give to a newbie just joining CrossFit Stealth?

Start slow. Learn the technique. Practice, practice, practice. And don’t get discouraged

Something you might not know about me is?

I am from Colombia

    Hey guys,
Just a FYI the link for Barbells for Boobs sign up isn’t working on stealth page or on the barbells for boobs full website. I tried to join the team via facebook and it won’t load. I would rather sign up that way so it posts to my page and I can fund raise via FB. Can you check it out? If not I will sign up via email but just wanted to let you guys know it’s not working.

    Thanks!
