Tell us a little bit about yourself (family, job, sports, interests, etc.).

Charlie and I have been married for 33 years. Running has been our primary exercise. After years of watching my son and daughter compete in various sports, we are enjoying competing with them (and our new daughter-in-law) in a WOD.

What was your fitness routine before CrossFit?

Running 5 or 6 times a week.

Why did you start doing CrossFit?

My son and daughter-in-law were members of Stealth, always talking about crossfit and pushing us to try a class. So we signed up for a beginners class and to our surprise a year and half later we are hooked and even go to open gyms. We also do WODs on our own when we can’t get to the box.

What were your thoughts after your first CrossFit workout?

I thought I was fairly fit but the 8 minute WOD changed my mind.

What were your goals when joining CrossFit Stealth?

Improve my overall fitness and strength.

Has CrossFit affected your life outside the box? How so?

We spend a lot of time at LBI during the summer so we moved box essentials to the beach – medicine balls, kettle bells, etc. Family and friends are welcome to join an outdoor Team Camack WOD on Saturday and Sunday mornings and amazingly they have!

How would you describe your experience at CrossFit Stealth?

The atmosphere is  friendly – not intimidating. Coaches and members are very helpful and there is always a sense of accomplishment at the end of a workout.

How has CrossFit differed from any other training you’ve done in the past?

It never gets boring. The WODs are challenging mentally and physically and the intensity level can’t be matched.

What advice would you give to a newbie just joining CrossFit Stealth?

It does get easier – don’t be afraid to challenge yourself.

Something you might not know about me is?

For the past 5 years Charlie and I have been running in the Tunnel to Towers 5k race that commemorates the 343 firefighters that died on 9/11. The run begins in Brooklyn, goes through the Battery Tunnel and finishes next to the World Trade Center. It is a very moving experience and I highly recommend it to everyone.
